BK STYLE – BLACK COMMUNITY WELLNESS
"Its a rare occurrence to have African American students enrolled in my classes, and I'd like for it to become the norm."
BCW Project founder Trudy Miller was afforded the luxury of exploring everything that interested her as a child growing up in Jamaica, and has been passionate about providing similar luxuries for African American youth to bridge the experiential gap of being born black in the United States.
BK Style Foundation is the proud fiscal sponsor of Team Solutionista's Black Community Wellness Project, a fundraiser to provide STEAM summer classes and wellness workshops to middle school and high school students in New York City.
Our goal is to raise $12,200 to host Design Detective Workshops for middle school and high school students throughout August. With everything school being cancelled, youth really need our support, and we need to learn how to better support them in the upcoming school year. Your tax-deductible contribution provides morning design detective workshops and luxurious extra-curricular activities for scholarship recipients, including movement, the arts, life skills training and other creative expression classes.
